Piri Piri Dal Khichdi
1 cup rice
1/2 cup split yellow lentils (Toor dal)
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1 green chili, chopped
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon whole mustard
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon Keya Piri Piri
1 tablespoon cooking oil
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Rinse rice and lentils thoroughly.
In a pot, sauté chopped onions until golden brown, then add ginger-garlic paste, green chili, mustard seeds, and cumin seeds.
Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, and Piri Piri. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
Add rice and lentils, mixing well. Pour in water (1:3 ratio of rice-lentil mixture to water), and cook until done.
